Our Approach

HowItWorks

A 5-Phase Trauma-Informed Healing Model

Healing isn't linear — but it does have a direction. Our trauma-informed, nervous-system-aware approach guides you from survival mode to empowered, values-driven living.

The Roadmap

5PhasesofHealing

Each phase builds on the last. You don't have to rush — the pace is yours. Most clients move through all five phases over the course of their work together.

01

Calming the Nervous System

Safety

Trauma keeps the body in survival mode long after danger has passed. Before meaningful healing can happen, your nervous system needs safety — not pressure. This phase is about slowing down, not pushing through.

What We Focus On

  • Understanding how trauma affects the nervous system
  • Learning grounding, stabilization, and emotional regulation tools
  • Identifying survival responses (freeze, fawn, hypervigilance, shutdown)
  • Reducing shame around coping patterns
Modalities:EMDR Stabilization · Somatic Regulation · Polyvagal Tools · Grounding

Phase Goal

"To help you feel more present, regulated, and grounded in your body."

Client Journey — Maya, 34
"I didn't realize how much of my day I spent bracing for something bad to happen. In this phase I learned what my nervous system was doing — and for the first time, I felt like I could breathe."

02

Identity & Attachment Healing

Self

Relational trauma — especially narcissistic or emotionally abusive dynamics — often disconnects people from their needs, voice, and sense of self. This phase is about finding yourself again.

What We Focus On

  • Healing attachment wounds and rebuilding internal trust
  • Understanding protective parts (inner critic, people-pleasing, emotional numbing)
  • Separating who you are from how you survived
  • Reconnecting with your values, needs, and intuition
Modalities:IFS Parts Work · Attachment Repair · Identity Mapping · Shame Healing

Phase Goal

"To help you reconnect with yourself — not the version shaped by survival."

Client Journey — Jordan, 41
"I had spent so long trying to be what everyone else needed that I genuinely didn't know what I liked anymore. This phase helped me start asking: what do I actually want?"

03

Trauma Processing & Meaning Repair

Truth

Trauma distorts meaning. Many survivors carry stories like "It was my fault" or "I can't trust myself." Using trauma-informed approaches including EMDR, we help you process and release these narratives safely.

What We Focus On

  • Processing unresolved trauma memories safely
  • Releasing internalized blame and shame
  • Separating facts from fear-based narratives
  • Making sense of what happened without minimizing or self-betrayal
Modalities:EMDR · Cognitive Reframing · Trauma-Informed Talk Therapy · Narrative Repair

Phase Goal

"To replace confusion with clarity and self-compassion."

Client Journey — Priya, 29
"I kept telling myself I was overreacting. EMDR helped me see that what happened was real — and that my reactions made complete sense. That shift changed everything."

* Composite example. Not a real client.

04

Boundaries, Voice & Choice

Power

Healing involves moving from survival-based reacting to intentional living. This phase is about reclaiming your voice, your choices, and your right to take up space.

What We Focus On

  • Developing healthy, sustainable boundaries
  • Strengthening emotional voice and self-advocacy
  • Breaking trauma-bond and people-pleasing patterns
  • Reclaiming choice, agency, and autonomy
Modalities:Boundary Work · Assertiveness Training · Trauma-Informed Communication · IFS

Phase Goal

"To help you trust yourself to protect and prioritize your needs."

Client Journey — Marcus, 38
"I used to apologize for everything. This phase was uncomfortable — but I started saying no for the first time in years. And nothing bad happened. That was huge."

* Composite example. Not a real client.

05

Resilience, Growth & the Future

Rise Into Integration

Healing isn't just about the past — it's about how you move forward. This phase focuses on integrating everything you've learned and building a life guided by values instead of fear.

What We Focus On

  • Integrating healed parts into daily life and relationships
  • Building secure self-leadership and emotional resilience
  • Preparing for healthier, safer relationships
  • Creating a future guided by values instead of fear
Modalities:EMDR Future Templates · Somatic Integration · Resilience Building · Values Clarification

Phase Goal

"To help you move forward with confidence, clarity, and self-trust."

Client Journey — Simone, 45
"I came in broken. I left knowing who I am. I'm not the same person — and I mean that in the best possible way. I actually look forward to my life now."

* Composite example. Not a real client.
